Last checked: 17 September 2026 · one week into Early Access. Dates and platform facts on this page come from the site’s verified launch brief and BULKHEAD’s Steam announcements; anything not in those sources is labeled as unverified rather than guessed.
The release date, stated plainly
WARDOGS entered Steam Early Access on 10 September 2026. That is the number that matters for every search that lands here, and it is worth being precise about what it does and does not mean:
- 10 September 2026 — Steam Early Access launch (PC).
- Full 1.0 release — not announced. No roadmap date has been published that this site can verify. Any date you see elsewhere is speculation until BULKHEAD or Team17 states it.
The first five days did the talking: over 5 million copies sold and a Steam concurrent peak of 428,666. That scale is why launch-week issues got patched fast — Patch 0.11 shipped on 12 September, two days after launch, and the launch issues and fixes page separates what it actually fixed from what you should still work around.
Platforms: what is confirmed
| Platform | Status at Early Access launch |
|---|---|
| Windows (Steam) | Confirmed — the Early Access launch platform |
| Console (incl. PS5) | Listed as playable in the site’s verified brief; check official channels for storefront details |
| Linux / Steam Deck | Not supported — a hard block at launch, not a temporary bug |
The Linux and Steam Deck exclusion is the most common gotcha, and it is a verified hard block rather than a “wait for Proton” situation. If your setup depends on either, the system requirements page lists the full platform gate plus the Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 requirements that tripped up some launch-day boots.
What Early Access means for your money
Two price questions get mixed up in searches, and they have different answers:
- The game’s price is set on the Steam store page and is outside this site’s scope — it is a single number on a page BULKHEAD controls.
- In-game prices are where budget planning actually lives. The Season 1 rebalance moved the Forward Operating Base from $2,500 to $7,500, and the full vehicle and gear price list tracks what the vendor charges. Those numbers move between patches, which is exactly why they are documented.
Quick answers to the other launch questions
- Is it worth buying during Early Access? That is a whole page: is WARDOGS worth it gives the honest buy-or-wait call, including who should skip it.
- New player? The beginner guide covers the first-match loop, and the starter loadout page shows what to buy with your first $10,000.
- Something broke at launch? Start with launch issues and fixes before reinstalling anything.
